How We Select Articles

We’re looking for high-quality content creators who want to contribute to our community.

How do we define high-quality content?

We have a few simple criteria:

• Original content (or original ideas powered by AI)
• Well written
• Interesting and relevant to our audience of AI enthusiasts and innovators from beginners to experts

Our goal is to help you gain more exposure for both your content and yourself.

We don’t pay for content but provide multiple ways to monetize your valuable content if you’re interested (listed at the end).

How to Submit Articles

We do our best to respond as quickly as possible. However, we carefully read each article submitted, so it can take up to 1 week to receive a decision.

Follow the quick steps below to get started:

1. Fill out this short writer registration form.

• Please share a draft link and wait to publish the story as this will help us maximize the results from the Medium ranking algorithm.

2. Our editors will add you as a writer.

You should receive an email and/or a notification from Medium once this is completed.

3. Follow these instructions to submit a story:

4. We will review and lightly edit your story.

We mostly for major grammatical errors when editing. If it meets our criteria, we will publish it.

5. We promote your story.

The AI Mind team will promote your story in relevant places, on social media, and in our community to help more people discover your article.

6. You promote your story.

Share your story on Twitter or other social outlets and be sure to tag @AIMindLabs so we can help you promote it.

• The benefit of the AI Mind community is supporting and finding each other.
• However, we ask that you don’t do anything sketchy or spammy to promote your story as it will reflect poorly on yourself as well as AI Mind.

How to Increase Your Visibility

The below tips will help you maximize your exposure when publishing with us:

Use an engaging picture without text.

• You can find free, high-quality images on Unsplash. Make sure to credit the creator!

Use relevant tags so your story can be easily discovered.

• Use popular tags so your work can be easily discovered across Medium, even outside of the AI Mind community.

Write a clear headline.

• Readers are likely scrolling through endless headlines. Make sure your headline is clear and describes the content inside

Proofread.

• Put yourself in the best possible light by looking for typos or bad formatting before submitting.

Don’t promote excessively.

• We won’t publish your article if you do this, but readers also don’t like it.
• You can tell if someone is trying to sell you something, right? So can others.

Benefits of Submitting an Article to AI Mind

Our team works very closely with our authors to help increase the number of views per article as well as provide proofreading and editing. Stories will typically see an increase in the number of views versus stories not submitted to a publication.

We don’t pay for content, but we do allow you to promote your own blog or services in the article as long as you do so in a tasteful and transparent manner. That means no excessive self-promotion or sponsored posts.

Not sure what constitutes excessive self-promotion? Just ask yourself if you would want to read the article if you weren’t interested in the service being promoted. If the answer is no, it’s excessive.

Here’s what this means for you as a writer:

Your stories are yours. We don’t lay any claim to them. You can cross-post them wherever you want. Other newspapers and websites may even approach you about syndicating them or translating them.

That’s fine with us, and we’re excited to help you get the exposure. We just ask that — since we invest a lot of time in editing and promoting your stories — you don’t remove them from our Medium publication once we’ve published them.
